Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder, was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother, were both authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father had an ethnically Jewish background. The actress has a younger brother Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved out of Mendocino County to California in the year she turned seven aged. There was no electricity. Ryder was an avid read and would spend her days reading books because there was no television. Ryder aged 12 took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. In 1986, she got her first film role the film Lucas she was only 15 years old. Ryder was a victim of bullying in high school. Her professional acting, she believed, would help her. It was not to be. She continued to pursue her goals. She got her break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder had a successful role in numerous films. In 1993 she received two nominations at the Academy Awards. One of them for her role in The Age of Innocence.
